Thank you to Jose and Laura Sanchez and the Watkis family for their leadership in building and designing our rainforest and for the Sanchez family for all those amazing real pictures from Puerto Rico's Rainforest. Thank You to Gerry Dutton for organizing our Rainforest Restaurant and for all those yummy meals. Thank you to Sue Jones who did our music and Karen Rodriguez who did our registrations and to all 25 people who built and organized our VBS this year. Thank you to the many adults who helped all week long in making this VBS our best ever serving 107 people throughout the week and a number more at our Sunday barbeque.
Thank You to Clarke, Caton and Hintz for helping with printing digital pictures of waterfalls and fauna.
God Orders Our Steps
By the power of the Holy Spirit we have been gathered as a diverse community which is muti-ethnic, multi-racial and multicultural which celebrates God's unconditonal love and amazing grace in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since new members classes last month and affirmations of baptisms we are now 1/4 African American, 1/4 Latino, 1/4 White and 1/4 of Mixed Ethnic Background. Our native languages include English, Spanish and Portuguese. Bridge of Peace is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation and strongly supports ministry to families with differently-abled children including designing specialized Family Bible School experiences. Please take some time to read our mission statement and view our year in pictures, and see how our partnership in mission with the wider church is making a difference in the city of Camden and beyond. Please take the time to meet our Deacon Board and Guidance Team by clicking on the links on the left hand side of the page. Through our Peace Center we provide many social and support services to our community and many of our partners assist us with these efforts. We have a new schedule for services in our Peace Center. Please worship with us on Sundays at 11:00 AM or Wednesday at 7:00 PM (in our Peace Center). We welcome all!

We thank God for the ministry of Sue Jones (Rt. rear) among us as a second year seminary student and praise God for her spiritual gifts and her call to serve God. Miss Sue leaves the Bridge to complete her seminary studies at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.

Thank you to St. Pauls, Hainesport for their continued support of our ministry in so many ways including providing air conditioners when the church's units were vandalized. Thank you to St. Pauls for carpeting for VBS story-time circle room, food for our barbeque, art supplies and simply knowing we serve a mighty Lord together.
Thank you to St. Matthew, Moorestown for help with materials for VBS including CD's of the rainforest songs for each child who attended. Thank you for providing support for our meals and helpers like Pastor Wengert, Miss Lee, and Miss Brandie.
Thank you to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Holy Communion in Berlin, and Lord of Life, Tabernacle for food for our pantry and financial donations which will help to support those who struggle with life's needs...

Welcome to Story Time in the Rainforest. Those listening range in age from two to eighty one and they really knew the stories and could praise God. |
 |
Music Time led by Sue Jones. Our favorite song was God Loved us First! |

Miss Lee and Miss Brandie from St. Matthew, Moorestown helped all week. Dinner at VBS. Our favorite dessert was "dirt" which the children made on Wednesday night which included a mixture of chocolate pudding, and many other goodies including gummy worms. Many commented that it was best dessert they ever ate. |

Peanut and his mom, Rose. He had a fantastic time at VBS and with his special needs was able for the first time to answer questions in a large group setting. Thank you to all our helpers and to St. Paul, Hainesport for the rugs which helped cut down the echo in the room assisting Peanut and others with sensory needs to be focused and successful. |

Arts and Crafts in the Rainforest. Children and youth did a variety of arts and crafts particularly designed with their special needs in mind as well as fun and developing listening skills, team work and cooperation each night and Sunday.
Face Painting in the Rainforest.
Laura Nicholas Sanchez and Sue Jones working with the children explaining what toucans say "Dios te De" and how they flap their wings. God will give (Dios te de) and he abundantly gave us all we needed this week! All enjoyed this activity. Please look at their faces to see how much fun they are having! |
